@SaberaMesia I've been using the same relatively unchanged i3 config for about 10 years, with a single external python file to mimic... xmonad workspace switching of all things (I'll show myself out). But maybe I'm too dense to spot \"outdated\". (talking about X boxes here of course, I don't stay clear of wayland on principle).
I installed Debian 12 with xfce just ~2 weeks ago and then switched to i3 and I seem to have accidentally have a tray and power management, if that's what you mean. I can't complain but I've also not looked for trouble yet...
