Apparently there's this #bandcampfriday and I'm a bit upset I didn't prepare myself.
That said, I like that I can listen to any random album on Spotify once to decide whether to buy it, but I think that's not really their main proposition. (I know, YouTube mostly works) - but I like my CDs and that's how I buy most of my music these days (and for the last 25 years, I guess).
This tool that searches your Spotify playlists for the music on Bandcamp works great. Makes a nice list of what to get on today's #BandcampFriday where the revenue share is waived and it all goes to the artist.
Remember: if you get Wikipedia "pls give us money" begging, give to the Internet Archive instead.
The internet archive is perpetually underfunded, whereas Wikipedia has enough cash on hand to continue operating at twice its capacity for about 3 decades.
