my [23F] european girlfriend [-5C] refuses to convert metric units to imperial ones when i ask her to. how can i convince her that i really need it?

Stumbled over lingva.ml - tried it out on a random paragraph EN -> DE and it already failed, while Google Translate was better.

Got sick and rewatched a couple Marvel movies last night, after not being in the mood for them for a couple of years (Endgame in 2019, then Multiverse of Madness in 2022 or so). They're certainly not deeply intellectual but I've still laughed my ass off at Thor: Ragnarok.

Kubernetes is actually the specification, what you're referring to is Kubernetes' monster

Did I tell you about the time I got invited to submit my work to a UC event on waste management and sustainability because they read that my research was “helping reduce garbage collection“

Pondering if I should write a minimal image posting ActivityPub software (there is just one file per post and it's linked to the absolute URL) instead of uploading images via webform/scp/... like the last 10 years.
Maybe I should go to bed instead.

I really like #gotosocial but one thing annoys me a little.
Their "upgrading guide" is usually a link to a diff between 2 release versions and they keep adding tons of config options (and a lot of docstrings). 90% of the time you can ignore everything but your config will be harder and harder to reverse engineer over time.
I mean, I'm thankful they have a nicely documented config.yaml but if it's 1186 lines in the latest release maybe a 2nd one with just a diff of the 110 config options and no comments would be good. My guess is that my actual config would be about 20 lines, but I'd actually have to go through everything and try it.

Testing miniflux and not sure if it's usable or if I don't like it.
I mean, it seems like a perfectly fine feed reader but I seem to be very picky with the UI need for certain things, also years of using something else.

Decommissioning a server and that feeling of not being 100% sure you copied everything (less important) over, despite the backups you could restore the important stuff from.
